TRIR = total recordable incidence rate (for injuries)
TRIR = (number of injuries x 200000) / total number of hours worked by all employees in a year
- the number of injuries is the total number of work accidents
- 200000 is considered the total number of hours worked by 100 employees in a year, and is calculated like this: 100 employees * 250 workdays/year * 8 hours/day.
- the total number of hours worked by all employees in a year can be calculated like this:
total workdays/year * average number of employees/year * 8 hours/day
where,
- total number of workdays in a year is 250 in average
- average number of employees is calculated summing monthly employee numbers and dividing by 12 (months)
