Credits: there are no credits to give for this method as I discovered it myself.
First I will start with the example and afterwards I will tell you how to download any file from slidegur.
1. Example
Let's assume you found some courses you need on slidegur.com, for example this course:
It's a 167 slide course and there is no download button and no way to download the document, even if you make an account. At least I haven't found one. But making a free account and uploading a file helped me obtain a link to the download of the file.
The link to download the above presentation is:
If you access that you will be redirected to a page with a play button in the middle. Just click on the play button and let the document load (for big documents which take a little to load, there will be a progress bar in the bottom right corner of the screen).
As soon as the document is loaded, you can notice 2 buttons in the top right corner of the screen: Download and Expand.
Of course, you want to press the Download button which will redirect you to a new page.
This new page contains a check box where you must select that you are not a robot, then below that there are 3 links:
- download PDF
- download PPT
- show as plain text
Now, assuming you want to modify this for your presentation or just for it to be easier to play as a slideshow, we will choose to download the PPT version. So, after you clicked on the check box to prove you are not a robot, click on the download PPT link and download you file. Don't worry if it says "Wrong captcha" and reloads the page - it means you waited too long between checking the box and clicking the download link.
2. How to?
As you can see above (2nd link in the example above) this is the pattern link that loaded the page with a download button:XXXXXXX&key=YYYYYYY
XXXXXXX = the user ID
YYYYYYY = document key (path to the file)
You find these in the page source of the main link (1st link in the example above). All you have to do is right click on that page, outside the presentation, and choose "View Page Source" (in Mozilla) - this should be similar in other browsers.
Once in the source of the page, click on CTRL + F to open a search dialog, and search for the following: data-id
Copy the number after data-id and after data-key (which is right after data-id). For the page in the example, I copied: data-id="3946187" data-key="366c9a45a9ee598a52ebfd9d73607ef1"
Now, in the pattern link I posted above, replace XXXXXXX with the number from data-id and replace YYYYYYY with the string from data-key.
The link XXXXXXX&key=YYYYYYY
should become3946187&key=366c9a45a9ee598a52ebfd9d73607ef1
Copy this link to your address bar and load it. Then proceed as explained in the above example.
