Remove shortcut virus from USB stick you know is infected (when your PC you know is not infected):
1. Insert USB stick and do not open it in any way.
2. Open command prompt (start - run - cmd)
3. In CMD, type H: and press enter. Replace H with the letter of your USB stick
4. Now type: attrib f:*.* /d /s -h -r -s
5. .... and press enter, then wait until it's done.
6. Now you can check your files and folders.
7. I also deleted some files created by the virus (IMO). Check for files with weird names and files created around the date and hour you inserted the stick in the infected PC.
Remove shortcut virus from infected computer:
Download RKill and run it. To stop any malicious processes including shortcut virus.
Download RogueKiller and run it as well. To remove any variants of trojans.
Download Malwarebytes , install, update and run a scan. For more malware removal that RogueKiller might missed.
Install SmadAV Antivirus. A finishing touch, this also removes shortcut virus and act as computer shield against it. Thus, preventing future infections.
Note: Please do not restart your PC until you finished installing SmadAV antivirus.

Another option: create a .bat file containing the following code - to create bat file, just open notepad, paste in it the text between quotes from below, then save it as ShortcutVirusRemover.bat (when saving, remember to choose All Files under Save as type), then close notepad and run the ShortcutVirusRemover.bat file.

How to prevent shortcut virus from coming back?
