ADONIS:Community Edition is a free version of the leading BPM tool ADONIS brought to you by the BOC Group. The BOC Group is a technological leader in IT-based management tools and offers products and services in the areas of Strategy and Performance Management, Business Process Management, Enterprise Architecture and IT Service Management.
ADONIS:Community Edition offers following model types:
Company map possibility to model processes and value flows at high level
Business process model detailed description of activities comprising business process
Business process diagram BPMN model. Offers more technical view of the process. Business process model can be automatically transformed into BPD
Working environment model model describing organisational structure: units, performers, roles and resources
Document model model listing all used types of documents
Risk model model listing all potential risks
Control model model listing all used controls
IT system model description of IT landscape
Use case diagram UML model
It is possible to create links between models (e.g. process from company map can link to business process model) and objects (e.g. activity from business process model can link to role from working environment model in order to show role responsible for execution).
Repository functionality is provided by so called pool models that gather objects that can be referenced from other models. E.g. document model allows creating list of all document types that are used within processes.
Since models contain links to other models and objects rather than only static text description it is easy to make updates. Updating pool model guarantees that all diagrams that reference objects from this model will be up to date. It is also very easy to find all activities that use certain document or that are executed by a particular role (e.g. back office clerk).
Models are created with easy to use graphical editor. All necessary attributes grouped in chapters are available in notebooks of the objects.
Attributes can be updated either via graphical editor or by using powerful tabular editor that allows updating attributes of many objects at once, as well as copying to and pasting from Excel.
Additional functionalities:

It is possible to visualise references to other models (e.g. list of used documents, IT systems, Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, Informed roles) next to the process flow
* showing submodels
It is possible to show linked (embedded) process models within the main process map
* generating graphics
It is possible to generate graphics for the selected part or whole model. Graphics can be saved to clipboard or resized and saved as a file (e.g PNG, BPM, JPG)
Analysis
Possibility to run predefined (e.g. show me all activities that cost more than X) or ad hoc reports (e.g. show me all activities executed by back office clerk that last longer than 5 minutes). Reports can be customised (e.g. by showing additional attributes and changing order of objects) and saved as HTML, RTF and Excel files.
Models can be simulated in order to:
- establish most expensive/longest paths within processes (path analysis)
- see what are the costs of staff and used resources (capacity analysis)
- find possible bottlenecks (workload analysis)
Evaluation
Simple BAM (Business Activity Monitoring) allows to track status of Key Performance Indicators defined for models. KPI data can be entered manualy, or automatically taken from Excel files or databases. Status of the performance indicators is visualised by traffic light code (e.g. green = target is met).
This mechanism can also be used e.g. for creating simple strategy maps (for balanced scorecard initiatives) with performance indicators.

- Models can be imported or exported either as ADL (plain text) or XML.
- BPEL templates can be generated from BPMN diagrams.
Documentation
It is possible to publish created models as HTML and DOC. If ERM (risk management scenario) is used additional risk reports (e.g. risk-control matrix ) can be generated. It is possible to define which objects and attributes will be published.
Both HTML and DOC keep references between models and objects.
If there were external documents referenced from models (e.g. PDF template attached to activities) it is possible to generate HTML documentation that will contain those docs. HTML documentation can be copied to a webserver to be used as a small process portal.
