For this you will need a free (for personal use) software called FastStone Image Viewer.
Get it from:

1. Open FastStone Image Viewer and on the left side navigate to the folder of photos you want to add timestamps to.

2. Once the folder is selected and the photos appear on the right side of the window, select the photos you want timestamps added to and press F3 (or go to Tools - Batch convert selected images).

3. On the RIGHT SIDE of the window that appears next you have all the photos you selected. If you want to remove any, just select it from the list on the RIGHT SIDE and press delete or select Remove (this will not delete the file from your computer).

4. Below that RIGHT SIDE list, select the output format and output folder, then check "Use Advanced Options (Resize ...) and press the Advanced Options button once it appears.

5. Select the Text tab, delete any text in the "Add Text" field, click on the Insert a Variable button and select "EXIF Date and Time" and choose Date and Time for the default date and time format, or create a desired format, like for example:
($H4)-($H3)-($H2); ($H5):($H6)
which will display
23-11-2017; 15:12

You can choose the desired location of the text in the blue box by moving the text with your mouse.

6. When done, click the OK button, then click the Convert button and wait for the operation to finish.

IT IS RECOMMENDED TO TEST THIS FOR 1 PHOTO AT A TIME, UNTIL THE DESIRED FORMAT (size, color, positioning etc.) IS ACHIEVED, THEN CONVERT ALL PHOTOS.
