AskAdmin is designed to restrict the usage of Windows applications and is ideal for those with children, or for computers in a business environment . You can quickly block any program installed on your computer, such as Skype, Google Chrome , Microsoft Edge or any file with a given extension (e.g. .bat, .cmd, .reg, etc). You can also easily unblock programs.

[ Fixed ] – AskAdmin Corrupt Microsoft EDGE in “Windows 10 version 1703”
[ Fixed ] – AskAdmin doesn’t block greater than 100 MB files (in AskAdmin.ini file change FileSizeLimit from “1” to “0”)

How to use it
There are two ways to create a block list:
1. The easiest way is to drag and drop the application you wish to block to the AskAdmin window. If you wish, you can drag several applications to the window at once.
2. Click the ‘Add File’ button and browse to the application you wish to add

How to use it

How to block an application
To block an application, tick the box next to its name. (A program added to the list is blocked by default). Note that if you accidentally block a windows system file that causes system instability, you will need to restart the PC into Safe Mode, and unblock it there.
How to unblock an application
You can unblock a single application, or you can simultaneously unblock all blocked applications or only the ones you have selected.
a) untick the box next to the application’s name
b) delete the application’s name (Edit menu –> Delete, or right click on the application and choose Delete)

If the block does not seem to be working, you may need to restart Windows Explorer. To do so, click the Options menu, then select “Restart Windows Explorer”

AskAdmin uses a hash security method, therefore it is useless for someone to attempt to circumvent the block by renaming the application file name. The restriction can not be broken using gpedit.msc or by any other method.
You can save (export) the Ban list
If you have created a block list containing many applications, you might wish to save the list for later use. To easily do so, click the “Save the List” button

You can Load (import) the Ban list
To easily restore your saved ban list, click the “Load a List” button

Note: If you use AskAdmin’s “Restart Windows Explorer” (under Options menu), Windows explorer will launch with administrative privileges (on NT6 systems and if UAC is enabled)
