I have to compare some KPIs from 2017 and 2018, and some KPIs are percentages and some are numbers.
I need to make a formula to show the increase/decrease percentage between 2017 and 2018. While the formula between two numbers is =(value2018-value2017)/value2017 the formula between two percentages is just =value2018-value2017
So I am looking for a formula that says IF value2018 is a percentage, do the 2nd formula, otherwise do the first formula.
Assuming this is my data: value2017 is in cell F8 and value is 0,63% value2018 is in cell H8 and value is 0,40%
The 2nd formula from the source below worked for me (the first one, selected as best answer, didn't work): =IF(ISERROR(SEARCH("%";F8));H8-F8;(H8-F8)/F8) returns the value -0.23% which is correct, obtained using the formula H8-F8
Here is the one that was selected best answer but didn't work for me: =IF(RIGHT(H8;1)="%";H8-F8;(H8-F8)/F8) returns the value -37% which is INCORRECT, obtained using the formula (H8-F8)/F8
