If I wanted to extract the top 10 most frequent values in a range or an array, I would have to do the following array formula:
=MODE(IF(ISNA(MATCH($C$3:$H$1836;$AJ$28:$AJ28;0));$C$3:$H$1836))
To enter this formula press CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER.
Note that almost all cell references are absolute, the one in color is not absolute for the row, only for the column.
