I have a pivot table connected with a slicer. I made an excel file and used the data, then copied the file and replace the entire raw data of the pivot with new data.
The old data still exists in the slicer because of the pivot table - it's in the pivot table's cache.
Just refreshing the pivot table didn't help.
To remove the old entries, do the following: - Right click your PivotTable> PivotTable Options - On the Data Tab , Change "Number of items to retain per field" from Automatic to None and press OK. - Then refresh your PivotTable.
The Filters on the PivotTable and the Slicer will now only show values that are currently in the dataset.
