Unfortunately the solution below, instead of linking the original folder, eg. D:\Downloads, it will go through the newly created path which is %userprofile%\Pinned Items\D Downloads as a folder.

This is a workaround that involves using command prompt.
1. Go to your user profile (start - run - %userprofile% - enter)
2. Create a folder that will contain the items you want in Quick Access
3. Open a command prompt window
4. Type the following line, replacing your folder path in the end with your own and the desired name in the middle with your own:
mklink /J "%userprofile%\Pinned Folders\New Name for Folder" "c:\path to original\folder you want to pin to Quick Access"
eg. in my case I would like to pin H:\Downloads to Quick Access but I need that it has the name H Downloads (gonna be having F Downloads too) - so in my case the line above will be:
mklink /J "%userprofile%\Pinned Items\H Downloads" "H:\Downloads"
5. After you created all your desired shortcuts, select them all, right click one of them and select Pin to Quick Access

Another alternative is to use a free software called Clover which besides adding a tabbed interface for Windows Explorer, it also adds a bookmark bar where you can save preferred paths:
