In the find and replace box you will have to click on the More > > button and check "Use wildcards"
- - - - - 1 to 9 - - - - -
In order to replace numbers from 1 to 9 there is the following syntax:
Find field: ([1-9]) Replace field: whatever
This will replace numbers from 1 to 9.
- - - - - 10 to 99 - - - - -
To replace numbers larger than 9 (eg. 10, 52, 98 etc.), but with only 2 digits, so smaller than 100, you use the following syntax:
Find field: ([1-9][1-9]) Replace field: whatever
For example for a chapter number in the form 23.1 you will have to put the following syntax: ([1-9][1-9].[1-9])
- - - - - larger numbers - - - - -
For each additional digit of the number you will have to add another [1-9].
Eg. for 4 digit numbers you will need: ([1-9][1-9][1-9][1-9])
