"Tables are one of the biggest causes of corruption in Word documents, especially when they get big and complex." ~Bill2718 @ spiceworks

1. Open Word / blank document

2. Go to File - Open - Browse

3. Select the file but do not click Open yet

4. Next to the Open button there is an arrow, click that then click Open and repair

5. Your file will open and show a dialog box with some errors.

6. Click the GoTo button to see where the error is. Check all errors to see where they are.

7. Close the dialog box and scroll up/down your document and delete those tables

8. Save and close the document.

9. Open normally.

Note:
Yes, those tables didn't appear in the document before, just the annoying error.
There were probably some blank characters equivalent to tables and Word "got confused".
Upon repair they appeared as tables, as they should, and you were able to delete them.
