Dunno what I did exactly, but my Search was frozen. Clicking the little hourglass next to Start opened the Search but nothing there was clickable. I could search for a keyword but again nothing was clickable.
While various sites suggested system shutdown / restart, a powershell solution then restart or powershell DISM to restore health, I found a quicker way that worked for me:
1. Opened Task Manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC)
2. Under Processes I located Search
3. Clicked on the small > before Search
4. Right clicked the Search (child) below the main Search (parent)
5. Clicked End Task
6. Search automatically reopened - unfrozen.
