It's showing a rectangle where the image is behind text and you can see only a bit of the bottom of the image.

1. Click on the image to select it.

2. Go to HOME tab, and click on the bottom right corner arrow of the Paragraph group.

3. Under "Line Spacing" there should be "Exactly" selected and a value for "At:"

4. Simply change the "Exactly" selection to either "Single" or "At least"

5. Click OK.

There is another method to fix the problem for the entire document, by selecting all the text at step 1 from post #1 above.

Simply click anywhere in the document and press CTRL + A to select all.
Then do the remaining steps, just like above.
At step 3 from post #1 you probably won't have "Exactly" selected under "Line Spacing", but ignore this and simply do step 4.

The advantages of the method are:
- in case you make a revision in the future, you won't have to redo the steps in post #1
- in case you have many images in your document, it would probably be easier to rearrange the text instead of doing the steps from post #1 for all the images

If you encounter this problem then you must change the default template of Microsoft Word, which is a bit harder to do, but not too hard.

idea I had today while explaining how to resolve the same problem to the owner of the document I had to fix a few days ago, but didn't use because I didn't want to ruin his entire document's text arrangement and spacing.
