I have to check the CAS and EC numbers from various Safety Data Sheets in Regulation 1907/2006 (REACH), Annex XVII.
That Annex is quite big and I have about 50 CAS and 50 EC to check. I already have the CAS and EC numbers in Excel in columns A and B starting from row 6.
So I don't keep copy / paste / searching 100 times, I did the following:
1. I went to the EURLEX page and opened the REACH regulation in HTML form:
2. Right clicked the page and chose View Page Source
3. On the page source I pressed ALT to show the File-Edit-View etc. toolbar, then under File I went to Save As and saved as TEXT file
4. Opened the text file and deleted the part until Annex XVII so I don't have too much info in my excel file
5. Copied the remaining text from the text file to a new sheet in Excel
6. Added the following formulas in columns C and D:
=IF(OR(A6="-";A6="");"N/A";IF(COUNTIF(Sheet1!$A$1:$AA$12140;"*"&A6&"*")>0;"EXISTS";"OK")) =IF(OR(B6="-";B6="");"N/A";IF(COUNTIF(Sheet1!$A$1:$AA$12140;"*"&B6&"*")>0;"EXISTS";"OK"))
