To automatically add ; or , separators between items inside formulas, eg. =SUMIF(criteria_range;criteria;sum_range), without having to manually tap the specific button, when selecting the items (eg. range, cell) you should have CTRL pressed.
As in, write =SUM( then press CTRL and select criteria_range then criteria cell then sum_range, the separator will be added automatically by Excel.
The only disadvantage of this method is that for absolute ranges you would have to first enter the whole formula, then select the desired ranges inside it manually and hit F4 for each of them
