Today I made a Clonezilla USB drive, and while it is a very useful USB to have, I wanted to revert back to it's previous state using diskmgmt.msc.

Made the Clonezilla disk with Universal USB Installer v2.0.2.7 and it created an exFAT partition and a FAT32 partition. When I wanted to revert back to having a single NTFS partition on the USB, I noticed I wasn't able to touch the 32 MB FAT32 partition - not being able to delete it. So after I deleted the big chunk partition and formatted as NTFS, the drive showed in This PC as 14,9 GB free of 15,0 GB. Which is annoying, that's all.

So, without further ado, here's how to remove/delete all partitions on a drive:

1. Open Powershell as administrator

2. Type diskpart and press Enter

3. Type list disk and press Enter

4. With diskmgmt.msc opened in parallel, check the number of the disk you want to delete partitions - CAREFULLY DO THIS CHECK AND MAKE SURE BEFORE MOVING FORWARD
- once sure you can close diskmgmt.msc after (otherwise it might freeze after step 6)

5. Type select disk # and press Enter (replace # with the disk number you need cleaned)
- confirmation should now appear below your previous command: Disk # is now the selected disk.

6. Type clean and press Enter
- confirmation should now appear below your previos command: DiskPart succeeded in cleaning the disk.

7. Open diskmgmt.msc and create your New Volume and format it and your USB drive will be back.
