If you happen to open one of the Power Query source files from within a folder (when Power Query source is a folder), Excel creates a temporary file starting with "~$" and the name of the file you opened.

This creates temporary errors in Power Query, because it tries to get the content of that temporary file as well.

If that happens, the solution is to insert a step right after Source and exclude file names starting with "~$".

Either you do this manually by filtering that column and adding Text Filter - Begins With... and adding those 2 characters above, or by inserting a new step after Source and adding the formula below:

= Table.SelectRows(Source, each not Text.StartsWith([Name], "~$"))
