There are two options to do this, using one of two commands: FILTER and QSELECT.

In the command bar type: QSELECT and hit enter.
A small window will open where you can select the part of the drawing you want to select objects in, the characteristics of your objects (color, line type, etc.).
After clicking on the OK button, the objects are selected. You can now click on delete to remove them, cut and paste them somewhere else, change their color, etc.

I tried the FILTER command but had problems with deleting the objects after they were selected...

In order to replace font for all the text in a drawing you don't need find & replace.
Just go to TEXT STYLE on the toolbar under the menu bar. It's a button with an A and a brush over it and on its right there is a drop down with Standard written in it.
