If programs won't get pinned to the taskbar, it means you might have deleted arrows on shortcuts. You can do this:
1. Go to Start - Run (WINKEY+R) - regedit
2.1. In the registry editor go to key: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\lnkfile
2.2. That's LNKFILE, with an L
3.1. Create a new STRING, name it: IsShortcut
3.2. Don't add any value to the string, just leave it with that name and no value.
4. Restart your computer.
5. You can now pin programs to the taskbar.
6.1. If still annoyed by arrows on shortcuts, you can go to the registry and delete IsShortcut
6.2. Your programs won't get unpinned from taskbar, but you won't be able to add more programs.
