With Microsoft Office Excel Viewer, you can open, view and print Excel workbooks, even if you don't have Excel installed. You can also copy data from Excel Viewer to another program. However, you cannot edit data, save a workbook, or create a new workbook.
Microsoft Office Excel Viewer is a replacement for Excel Viewer 97 and all previous Excel Viewer versions. However, you cannot create a new workbook, edit data or save a workbook.
Microsoft Office Excel Viewer is a freeware Windows tool that allows you to open, view and print Excel files, without even requiring the main Microsoft Excel application.
The application borrows the same Ribbon design from Microsoft, but it does just that: it lets you work with Excel files, even if you haven't installed Microsoft Office.
Still, the program is nothing more than a simple Excel file viewer, so you're not allowed to create a new spreadsheet, edit or save an existing one.
Of course, since it's based on the popular Microsoft Excel interface, you can't get lost in the interface, and everything is pretty easy to use once you launch it.
It provides dedicated tools to quickly print a file, preview a spreadsheet that's ready to be printed, set up the page and define the print area, copy or find some text and that's all.
As you can see, Microsoft Office Excel Viewer is quite a basic software solution, so it runs on low hardware resources, without slowing down the system at all.
What's more, the program runs smoothly on all Windows versions, obviously without requiring administrator privileges on Windows 7.
All things considered, Microsoft Office Excel Viewer is a handy piece of software, especially because it lets you open Excel documents without the need for Microsoft Office. Except for the fact that it doesn't provide editing tools, it's a useful product that definitely serves its purpose with minimum effort.
