So, you created your macro and your document with the macro is open (not necessarily saved with macro-enabled features, not saved at all, it doesn't matter).
1. Go to the Developer Ribbon (in inactive, go to File - Options - Customize Ribbon and check Developer)
2. In the Developer ribbon, click on Record Macro for the dialog to appear, and choose to Store Macro In: Personal Macro Workbook ------- THIS IS IMPORTANT and click OK
3. Go to Visual Basic editor on the Developer ribbon (or ALT + F11 to open it).
4. Copy the vba code of your macro from Module1 in your file to Module1 in the newly appeared VBAProject (PERSONAL.XLSB).
5. In Visual Basic go to File - Save PERSONAL.XLSB
6. You can close your documents and when you open a new one, macro will be available.
