[CHROME] Chrome File System Takes a Lot of Space - Move Profile

Wanted to know why the C drive seems to be fuller and fuller, and used WizTree to check it out.
Found 25 GB inn Chrome File System folder.

I understood it is safe to remove from one source, but I want to know what I am removing and not just delete files.

To find out what's "inside" those extension-less files, just put the following command inn the Chrome address bar and run it:
chrome://settings/content/all?sort=data-stored

However, the files I found in the File System folder in Chrome Profile 1 did not decrease in size, neither were they removed.

Best bet?

Close Chrome and move files to another partition, see what happens.

Today I moved my entire User Data folder from C drive to D drive, then made a symlink to "trick" Chrome into thinking it's still saving files into the normal C-drive-located folder.

1. Closed Chrome (even checked Task Manager for any leftovers 😁)

2. Copied the User Data from %LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome to D:\Chrome User Profile

3. Deleted User Data from C drive

4. Opened Command Prompt and typed the following command and pressed Enter:

mklink /D "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data" "D:\Chrome User Profile\User Data"

When opening Chrome afterwards I noticed my bookmarks on the Bookmark bar had no icons, but after a short while (~1 minute) they all loaded.
