[CHROME] Find & Replace in Online Questionnaire on Tally.so

I made a few online questionnaires on the website https://tally.so/

They are all text and have 4 criteria which apply in 100 places each.
If there is a mistake in 1 of the criteria, it has to be updated in 100 places. This is tiresome to do once, but what if you decide you want to rephrase an answer because people did not understand properly? 100 more places to update. How about two answers? 100 more. How about a mistake in another criteria? And more...

Apparently Tally.so renders its questionnaire text as editable HTML elements directly in the DOM (Document Object Model) - the blueprint of the page.
When you type text into the Tally form builder, it doesn't immediately send a message to a distant server every time you hit a single key. Instead, the text is held live right inside your browser tab's active memory (the DOM). Because it is living right there on your screen, a small snippet of JavaScript code can instantly scan the "blueprint," find every single text box, and change them all at once.

In standard web design, a webpage is usually "read-only." You can read a news article, but you can't click on a paragraph and start typing over it.
Tally works differently. Behind the scenes, Tally uses a special web trick called contenteditable="true". This tells your browser: "Treat this text box like a Microsoft Word or Google Doc screen." Because Tally keeps these fields completely open to editing directly on your screen, the console script can easily pretend it is you typing into all 50 boxes simultaneously.

When you click Publish, Tally simply takes a snapshot of that updated blueprint and saves it to their servers!

1. Open questionnaire in the Tally Editor mode

2. Open your browser's Developer Tools by pressing F12 (Ctrl + Shift + I)

3. Click on the Console tab.

4. Copy the code block below, replace OLD TEXT and NEW TEXT with your actual words (keep the quotation marks), paste it into the Console, and press Enter:

document.querySelectorAll('[contenteditable="true"]').forEach(el => {
  if (el.innerText.includes("OLD TEXT")) {
    el.innerText = el.innerText.replaceAll("OLD TEXT", "NEW TEXT");
    // Trigger a change event so Tally registers and saves the auto-edit
    el.dispatchEvent(new Event('input', { bubbles: true }));
  }
});

5. Click Publish at the top right of your Tally page to save the updates.
