You will have to do the same as in the following topic - post 1:

With the exception that at point 1. CONDITIONAL FORMATTING PART, instead of the formula in the topic above you should add the following formula:
=CELL("address")=CELL("address";A3)
Where A3 is the top left cell of your selection area. If it's the whole sheet you want it applied to, then select whole sheet and replace A3 with A1.

You can also combine the two - highlight row and highlight active cell.
Make sure the rule to highlight active cell is above the one for row highlight in the rules list.
