By default, if you insert a new column in the middle of a table with CTRL+SHIFT+PLUS, all the columns following the new one will change their width.
To prevent this from happening you must insert a Sheet column instead of a table column.
Select the entire column to the left of which you want your new column inserted, then either press CTRL+SHIFT+PLUS or go to Home tab - Cells group (to the right of the tab) - Insert - Sheet Columns.
