Issue:
When downloading certain files such as ZIP, this message is displayed: "This file is dangerous, so Chrome has blocked it."
Causes:
This is a security feature in Google Chrome that will block certain types of files from being downloaded, such as ZIP files with unknown content, or containing Microsoft Office documents that might themselves contain macros that may be harmful to your computer.
Solution:
This feature can be bypassed or disabled temporarily if you trust the contents that you want to download.
To bypass the security feature:
1. Right-click on the file.
2. Select "Save link as"
If "Save link as" not available or you want to disable the security feature to download multiple files, see below.
To disable it temporarily:
1. In the top-right corner of the browser window, click the 3 dots icon.
2. Select "Settings" from the menu.
3. Select "Privacy and security" on the left side of the page.
4. In the section "Privacy and security", click on "Security".
5. Select "No protection" (not recommended).
6. Confirm the following pop-up with "Turn off".
7. Download the file in question.
8. Repeat steps 1.- 4. to return to the security settings.
9. Recommended: Select "Enhanced protection" to re-enable safe browsing.
