If you want to copy text in columns A1:J1 to A2:A11 you have to do the following - tested in Office 2007:
1. Select columns and copy contents (CTRL+C)
2. Click on cell A2
3. Click on Home Tab and under the Paste button click the little arrow pointing down
4. Select Transpose
