1. Open excel document
2. Press Alt + F11 to access Visual Basic editor, then press F7 to access code editor (if not already open)
3. Paste the following in the code editor:
Sub PasteSpecialFormats()
If Application.CutCopyMode = False Then
Beep
MsgBox "No formatting in Clipboard"
Else
Selection.PasteSpecial Paste:=xlFormats
End If
End Sub |
4. Save
5. Go to Excel and select the Developer Ribbon and Macros button (on the left side of the ribbon).
6. Select your macro and click the Options button. There you can select a letter to be pressed with Ctrl. For example Ctrl + Q.
7. Click Run to save the shortcut.
8. Select the cell which you want formatting copied from and press Ctrl + C to copy the cell to clipboard.
9. Select the cell you want to receive the formatting and press Ctrl + Q to paste the formatting.
